, it turns out this is important to us. what i've said to prime minister netanyahu is that given so far the talks are moving forward in a constructive way, it makes sense to extend that moratorium so long as the talks are moving in a constructive way. because, ultimately, the way to solve these problems, is for the two sides to agree what's it going to be, israel? what's it going to be, the state of palestinian. and if you can get that agreement, then you can start constructing anything that the people of israel see fit. in undisputed areas. now, i think the politics for prime minister netanyahu are very difficult. his coalition, i think, there are a number of members of his coalition who said we don't want to continue this. and one of the things that i've said to president abbas is, you've got to show the israeli public that you are serious and constructive in these talks so that the politics for prime minister netanyahu, if he were to extend the settlements moratorium, would be a little bit easier. and, you know, one of the goals i think that i've set for myself and for my team is to

that congressman boehner's comments suggest a willingness to agree to the president's position. we all use the middle class as a political football but extends the tax cuts for the middle class fairly quickly to give them certainty and make sure they know they will get help in tough economic times. >> you know there are plenty of people out there, including peter orszag, who until recently, your director of office of management and budget saying there should be tax increases for nobody. now is not the time to be increasing taxes. >> well, harry, i understand what peter argues, he argues we should extend the middle-class tax cuts for two years and have them expire. he believes if the price of doing that is having to extend the upper-end tax cuts that's what we should do. that's not the president's position because, let's be clear, harry, the tax cuts for the upper end, the wealthy, mostly millionaires, that's a $700 billion proposition the next ten years. the president does not believe that we should be borrowing $700 billion, most likely from overseas, to extend tax cuts follow folks, quit

more earlier today. >> reporter: montgomery county police are searching for an armed gunman and using everything from police cars to helicopters to armed vehicles. they are receiving assistance from state police. a woman who lives at the avalon apartments in bethesda tells news 4 around 7:20 this morning a woman ran door to door screaming for help saying someone was trying to shoot her. soon after police surrounded the avalon apartments. there were reports of at least one shot fired. montgomery county police say they know who their suspect is. their search to get him into custody led to closing of streets. they closed nearby exits to 270 and locked down walter johnson high school. people in live at the avalon were told to stay in their apartments and those who are out of their apartments were not let back in. >> they are not letting me go back in. i just want to go to work. >> tracee wilkins, news 4. >> joshua prince has been found. price, rather, found and arrested in pennsylvania. we have more on this breaking news story on a live report on news 4 at 5:00. >>> it is back to normal a

, the corner of 18th and florida avenue. the driver of the car behind us slammed into a well known ethiopian restaurant in adams morgan. fire officials say two female pedestrians were struck and transported with serious injuries. both are in their 20's. one of them is in very critical condition. the female driver at the scene was irate, detained with handcuffs, put in the police car. she was arrested and refused treatment at the scene. the car drove right through the front of the business, shattering the store front bay window. the police are trying to figure out exactly what went wrong here. >> i cannot figure out how she did it. taking out the entire restaurant and two people. this is a busy intersection, but coming down where she was, there is no sense to it. >> still a big police scene, trying to figure out what happened, interviewing witnesses, trying to figure out if the woman was speeding or not. this entire area between 18th and florida is completely closed to vehicular traffic. >>> we are also following breaking news from springfield. nine people have been transported to hospital af
